Managed Microsoft Sentinel

Managed Microsoft Sentinel,
run by an AI SOC that never closes.

Sentinel is the best SIEM most organisations already own, and the hardest one to staff. We have run it in production since 2019, and today the queue is carried by an AI SOC: every alert investigated to a verdict in 3m 30s, with a senior analyst signing it before it reaches you.

Your Sentinel → a signed verdictSince 2019
A signal moves through your own Sentinel workspace to a signed verdict, and the completeness gate can send it back A boundary marked as your Sentinel workspace. Inside it a signal enters, is triaged and investigated, then reaches a completeness gate. The gate either returns the work for more evidence, shown as a loop back, or lets it continue to containment and a senior analyst's signature. YOUR SENTINEL WORKSPACE IN lands INV investigated 3m 30s ADV hypotheses 7m 50s GATE evidence gaps reassessed, not closed RESP your limits on approval L3 signs it Sentinel is the platform. The AI SOC is what runs it — inside your tenant, on your data. The gate is the difference between an investigation that finished and one that ran out of evidence.
What it is

Your Sentinel,
operated as a service.

Not a second platform bolted on beside it, and not a dashboard someone glances at during office hours. The Sentinel workspace you already pay for, run properly, around the clock.

  • Sentinel stays in your tenant and on your subscription. We operate it; you own it, and you keep it if we ever part company.
  • Connectors, parsers and analytical rules built for your estate rather than a generic content pack switched on and left.
  • Every alert triaged, investigated and answered, with the evidence attached and the reasoning recorded.
  • A senior analyst signs every customer-facing verdict. That is the default on the managed service, not an upgrade.
  • Three security operations centres, each manned around the clock. There is no out-of-hours version of this service.

The procedures the agents execute are the ones our own analysts wrote over years of production Sentinel work. The AI SOC did not replace that knowledge, it is how we now deliver it on every incident instead of on the ones somebody had time for.

Who operates it

Sentinel is the platform.
The AI SOC is what runs it.

Every Microsoft partner deploys the same Sentinel. What separates them is what happens in the hours between an alert firing and somebody telling you what it meant.

That work used to be rationed. A human SOC triages by hand, so low-value alerts get closed fast to keep the queue moving and the depth of any investigation depends on who is on shift at the time. We ran it that way for years and we know exactly where it bends. An AI SOC removes the rationing: the agents carry the volume, so every Sentinel incident gets the same investigation at four in the morning as it does at four in the afternoon.

How an alert flows through it The CYBERSHIELD AI platform MXDR for Microsoft

Triage, on every incident
Enrichment, deduplication and entity resolution against your directory as the alert lands, rather than a queue somebody works down in priority order.
Investigation to a verdict
A multi-stage pipeline including a completeness gate that audits the finished work for evidence gaps and sends it back. Average verdict 3m 30s, or 7m 50s with Advanced Investigation.
Detection engineering as a standing job
Analytical rules written, backtested and retired against your workspace and your threat profile, so coverage improves month on month instead of decaying after onboarding.
Hunting without waiting for a project
Hypothesis-driven hunting across your Sentinel data on a schedule and in response to new intelligence, rather than sold separately and rarely scheduled.
A person still signs it
Senior analyst sign-off on every customer-facing verdict is the default on the managed service. The agents do the volume; people own the consequence.

Specialised agent roles, 250+ named analyst skills, and the autonomy dial set per agent and per tenant with you before anything runs.

Two ways to run it

Fully managed,
or alongside your own team.

Not every organisation wants to hand the whole thing over, and the ones that do not are usually the ones with a security team worth keeping busy.

Model 01

Fully managed

We own the operation end to end: onboarding, data engineering, detection tuning, the 24/7 queue, investigation, response and reporting. You get verdicts and recommendations rather than alerts to work through.

Best if Sentinel is currently nobody’s full-time job.

Model 02

Co-managed

We work alongside your IT or security team rather than replacing them. You keep ownership of the environment and your own workflows; we add 24/7 coverage, detection engineering and the investigation depth that is hard to staff for.

Best if you have a team and need hours, depth or nights covered.

Both run on the same SOC, the same agent roster and the same procedures. The difference is where the boundary sits, and it is agreed in writing before anything is connected.

What is included

The whole operation,
not just the monitoring.

Monitoring is the easy half. What separates a managed Sentinel service from an alert forwarder is everything around it.

24/7 manned SOC

Multiple security operations centres, each staffed around the clock in its own right. Senior analysts, incident responders, L3 analysts and AI developers are on shift at every hour.

The agent roster on your queue

Specialised agent roles carrying triage, investigation, hunting, response and service operations, with 250+ named analyst skills behind them.

Investigation, end to end

A multi-stage pipeline including a completeness gate that audits the work for evidence gaps and sends it back rather than settling for the first plausible answer.

Detection engineering

Analytical rules written, tuned and retired against your estate and your threat profile. Coverage improves month on month instead of decaying after onboarding.

Data engineering

Custom connectors, parsers, playbooks, notebooks and analytical rules built during onboarding to get your security logs into Sentinel properly. Included in the managed service.

Threat hunting

Continuous, hypothesis-driven hunting against your environment, included from the Complete package upwards rather than sold as a project that never gets scheduled.

Response and containment

Containment planned and executed inside limits you set, with the autonomy dial configurable per agent — fully autonomous, held for approval, or autonomous above a confidence threshold you choose.

Reporting you can forward

A full investigation report, an escalation write-up where it escalated, a closing statement and a drafted internal email. Output rather than a ticket.

Your Threat Attack Profile

Built from your sector, geography, technology stack, operations and the actors that actually target you, and used to shape what the detections look for.

Which of these are on duty depends on the package. Core, Complete and Command are set out in full on the pricing page, including the agent-by-package matrix.

Synergy Global Housing

Global corporate housing

An in-house team overwhelmed by the volume of alerts their Sentinel environment produced, and unable to get to the ones that mattered. Rather than hiring their way out of it, they handed the environment to us to optimise and to watch around the clock.

“I don’t know if anybody else is close to doing what Wizard Cyber is doing. Having Wizard Cyber there by my side as a partner just increases my availability for everything else we can get done.”
“The big guys that are out there seem like they onboard you, then kind of forget about you. We haven’t had that with Wizard Cyber. They’ve still been the same with what they’ve been from day one.”

Revalize

Global software, 15,000+ business customers

A company growing fast by acquisition, with each acquired business arriving on its own legacy systems and under its own regulatory regime. They came to us on a referral from a mutual customer, looking for genuine 24/7 cover that could absorb the next acquisition without being rebuilt.

“Barely two weeks into our onboarding, they detected and stopped an SQL injection attack against a development server that had a vulnerability in its code… probably the best shining example of why we’ll always be a Wizard Cyber customer.”
Joe JohnsonVice President of Cloud Operations, Revalize

The estate now scales with the business: new acquisitions are brought into the same monitored environment rather than each one being a separate security project.

Read the Revalize case study

Both engagements began before CYBERSHIELD AI carried the queue, and neither is a claim about what the agents did. What has not changed is the part they are talking about: the same SOC, the same procedures, and a senior analyst still accountable for the answer.

Getting your data in

Sentinel is the requirement.
After that, whatever you run.

Sentinel is the correlation engine everything runs on, so it is the one thing we need you to have. It is also the only thing.

See what connects

The Microsoft estate, on day one
Defender XDR, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Purview and the rest connect out of the box. No second SIEM to license, and no data duplicated into somebody else’s lake.
Everything else, built to fit
Firewalls, endpoints, cloud platforms, SaaS, OT sensors and line-of-business systems. Where a connector or parser does not exist for your environment, we write it.
Included, during onboarding
That building is part of the managed service. Not a change request, not a professional-services line, and not a scoping surprise three months in.
Over 500 solutions in the Content Hub
Microsoft’s own published count of what ships ready for Sentinel. Our data engineering starts where that ends, which is usually at the systems that make your business specifically yours.
Data sources

It ingests from more or less anything.

Firewalls, endpoints, identity, cloud platforms, SaaS and the line-of-business systems nobody writes connectors for. A sample of what our customers already send us:

A sample rather than a supported list. Sentinel ingests from far more than this, and where a connector or parser does not exist for your environment, writing it is part of the service.

Moving to Sentinel

Coming off a legacy SIEM
is its own project.

If you are still on an appliance-era SIEM, or paying per-gigabyte for a platform nobody enjoys querying, that migration is a piece of work in its own right. It does not have to be yours to run, and it does not have to happen before this service does.

We have been running Sentinel in production for customers since 2019, which means we have moved people onto it from most of what came before. Microsoft funds a structured engagement for it, and we deliver that too.

Sentinel implementation and migration

Why us on Sentinel specifically

Microsoft Solutions Partner
for Security.

With all four security specialisms inside it — Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management, Threat Protection and Data Security. Microsoft awards those against delivered customer outcomes and certified staff rather than against a marketing spend.

Microsoft Solutions Partner for Security, with specialisms in Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management, Threat Protection and Data Security
In production since 2019
Not a practice started when Sentinel got popular. Six years of running it for customers is where the triage procedures, the escalation logic and the standards a good investigation has to meet came from.
We build the tooling ourselves
CYBERSHIELD AI is ours, written in-house from those procedures. That is why we can build what your estate needs rather than waiting for a vendor to add it to a roadmap.
People stay accountable
A senior analyst signs every customer-facing decision. The agents do the volume; a human owns the answer. That is the default, and it is the point rather than a limitation.
Your data does not train anything
It stays in your tenant. No cross-customer learning, no model training, no fine tuning, no embedding of your data — enforced architecturally rather than promised in a policy.

Questions

Managed Sentinel, answered.

Is Azure Sentinel the same as Microsoft Sentinel?

Yes. Microsoft renamed Azure Sentinel to Microsoft Sentinel in 2021 — same product, same workspace, same underlying service. If you are searching for a managed Azure Sentinel service, this is the page you want, and we have been running it since it carried the old name.

Who investigates our Sentinel alerts, people or AI?

Both, and the split is deliberate. AI agents carry the volume: triage, enrichment, investigation to a verdict, correlation and hunting. People own the consequence, and a senior analyst signs every customer-facing verdict before it reaches you. That is the default on the managed service rather than an upgrade.

Is this an AI SOC, or a traditional managed service?

An AI SOC. The difference is not speed for its own sake, it is that the rationing stops: a human SOC closes low-value alerts fast to keep the queue moving, so depth depends on who is on shift. Every Sentinel incident here gets the same investigation at 3am as at 3pm.

Does the AI train on our Sentinel data?

No. Your data stays in your own tenant and isolation is enforced architecturally rather than by policy. There is no cross-customer learning: nothing we run for another customer touches your detections, and your telemetry does not improve the service anyone else receives.

What does a managed Microsoft Sentinel service actually include?

Operating the workspace and everything around it: data connectors and parsers, analytical rules written and tuned for your estate, 24/7 triage and investigation of what they produce, threat hunting, response and containment inside limits you set, and reporting you can forward to your board. Monitoring alone is not a managed service.

Do we need to buy Sentinel separately?

Sentinel runs in your own tenant on your own Azure subscription, so Microsoft bills you for it directly and the workspace remains yours whatever happens between us. We quote the managed service against an agreed scope; nothing is priced before that scope is written down.

Can you work with a Sentinel deployment we already have?

Usually that is exactly what happens. We review what is connected, what the rules are actually catching, what is noisy and what is silent, and then fix the gaps as part of onboarding rather than insisting on starting again.

Do you offer co-managed Microsoft Sentinel?

Yes. Under the co-managed model you keep ownership of the environment and your own workflows, and we add the parts that are hard to staff for: 24/7 coverage, detection engineering and investigation depth. The boundary between the two teams is agreed in writing before anything is connected.

What if our data is not all in Microsoft?

Almost nobody’s is. Sentinel is the only hard requirement because it is the correlation engine; beyond it we work with whatever you run, and where a connector or parser does not exist for your environment we write it as part of the service.

How fast do you actually respond?

Our average verdict at L1 is 3 minutes 30 seconds and at L2 is 7 minutes 50 seconds, measured from signal received to signed-off outcome. We publish time to verdict rather than time to acknowledge, because acknowledgement measures how fast a machine noticed rather than whether anyone answered the question.

Do you work with UK organisations?

Yes, and we have a UK presence alongside offices in the USA, Pakistan and Kuwait. We run several security operations centres, each manned around the clock in its own right rather than handing over at the end of a regional shift.

Where to start

Bring us your Sentinel
and we will tell you what it is missing.

A demo against your own estate rather than a canned one, run by an analyst rather than a salesperson. Nothing is deployed and nothing is priced before the scope is agreed in writing.
